About 1839 Pipe Tobacco
1839 Pipe Tobacco is made in the United States by Premier Manufacturing, the consumer products division of U.S. Tobacco Cooperative Inc., a grower-owned tobacco cooperative based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Founded in 1946, the cooperative works with more than 550 member growers across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida. 1839 has been part of Premier’s tobacco lineup since at least 2008 and is made with American-grown tobacco. Its pipe tobacco blends combine Virginia flue-cured tobacco with Burley and Oriental-style tobaccos for a loose-cut blend packaged in resealable bags.
1839 Pipe Tobacco Blends
1839 Pipe Tobacco blends we carry include Regular, Smooth, and Menthol. Regular provides the brand’s traditional full tobacco blend, while Smooth has a milder taste. Menthol adds the familiar cooling flavor to the same loose pipe tobacco style. Pipe smokers have several choices depending on whether they prefer a traditional, smoother, or menthol blend. 1839 is American-owned and produced through a cooperative with direct ties to US tobacco farmers, setting it apart from many pipe tobacco brands supplied by larger international tobacco companies.
1839 Pipe Tobacco Bag Sizes and Sales
1839 Pipe Tobacco is available here in 6oz and 16oz resealable bags. Depending on bowl size and how much tobacco is packed, a 1lb bag can generally provide about 160 to 225 pipe bowls. Most pipe bowls hold about 2 to 3 grams of tobacco, while a standard manufactured cigarette contains roughly 0.7 to 1 gram, which helps put the amount needed to pack a pipe bowl into perspective.
